(Shu Chang)

(Shu Chang)

I consider myself as an active, outgoing and reliable person. Every year around this time, I usually start to plan my summer because I don’t feel like wasting the summer hanging around and doing nothing. Instead, I like to make the best of it. As you could tell from my resume, I always try to live my life to the fullest because I don’t want to leave any regrets in it. ”No regrets and live life to the fullest” is my motto in life, so if there is something I really want, I will do my best to get it. I bear this motto in mind wherever I go. This time I also decided to try as hard as I can to get the chance to participate in this project and if I do get in, I will try my best to learn and make a contribution to it.

The program, summer institute in Taiwan is definitely worth mentioning. I was the staff of it in 2010. The responsibility of the staff was to organize a weeklong orientation and group activities like language courses, Chinese calligraphy for U.S. and Canada graduate student. The program gave me more than I offered. It gave me the chance to interact with visiting graduate students from the U.S. and Canada and what’s more, it gave me the chance to introduce National Tsing Hua University and the culture and hospitality of Taiwan to them. Through this program, I not only get a better understanding of the culture and living of the U.S. and Canada but also get to appreciate the beauty of Taiwan from a different perspective.

3. 題目:My Hometown。

I was born in a small town in southern Taiwan called Yunlin County. I think that’s probably where my hospitality comes from since most people consider the southerners the most hospitable of all. However, most of my memories are in Taipei county where I was raised. I like Taipei very much. I would say Taipei is kind of like the Big Apple since Taipei is also a city that never sleeps. There is always something going on in Taipei whenever and wherever.
Taipei also got convenient public transportation and it can almost get you to wherever you want to go. It’s a city full of energy and you will never get bored with it. There are too many things and places you can do and go in Taipei. As the old saying goes, you name it, Taipei got it! From parks, museums, temples, night markets to lovely beaches and mountains, whether you are a culture lover or nature lover, you will find Taipei appealing.
With places to go, culture to experience, and things to eat, Taipei certainly offers a lot of exploration opportunities. Are you ready to explore the beautiful island? Taipei is definitely a great starting point to begin your exciting adventure.
